Player guide: how to play Pick it
This guide explains, step by step, how to read a bet, make a pick and suggest your own questions. Pick it is free: you play with Credits, a virtual currency that cannot be bought and is never exchanged for money.
Find a question you care about
The home feed mixes recent bets with those drawing the most players. To focus on a topic, open the list of all bets or a category: sport, economy, film and TV, video games, culture and internet, politics. Each bet is a question about an upcoming event, with its possible answers and its dates.
Read the whole question
Before answering, check three things: the exact wording, the date betting closes and the date the result is expected. When the page says how the result will be decided (for example "score at the end of regular time"), that rule is what counts, not the general impression.
Details matter: "before 30 September" is not "on 30 September", "first week" is not "total", and a draw is neither a win nor a loss.
Understand the percentage
Every answer shows a percentage. It sums up what the community thinks: the more likely players find an answer, the higher its percentage. It starts from an opening estimate, then moves with each pick, in small steps, so that no single player can swing it.
It also sets what a correct answer pays: your Credits are divided by that percentage. The percentage that counts is the one at the moment your stake is confirmed; if it moves afterwards, your possible payout no longer changes.
Example: 100 Credits on an answer at 25% pay 400 Credits if it comes true. The same 100 Credits on an answer at 80% pay 125.
Make your pick
Choose your answer, then how many Credits to commit. An unlikely answer pays more but comes true less often; a very likely one pays little. Credits placed on a wrong answer are lost; you get more every day with the daily bonus.
Players who climb the leaderboard spread their Credits, keep a reserve and stake more on the topics they really know about.
The most common mistakes
- Putting everything on a single question: one surprise is enough to start again from zero.
- Mixing up when betting closes and when the result is due: you can no longer bet after the first, and the result only comes after the second.
- Forgetting the rule: regular time or extra time, sprint race or Grand Prix, first-day or first-week figures.
- Betting on a question whose result comes after the end of the season: when a new season starts, a stake still in play is neither paid nor refunded.
Follow the result
Once betting closes, the bet waits for the event. The result is established from a public source: some bets settle automatically (official match score, cryptocurrency price), others are checked by the moderation team. An AI is only used as a fallback, when nobody has been able to check within 24 hours.
On a finished bet's page you will find the correct answer and the explanation. A bet whose outcome is not yet known stays pending: it is never settled at random, nor refunded by default.
Suggest a good question
Any member can create a public bet. Before it goes live, the question goes through an automatic check: it must be about a verifiable fact, with a clear deadline. Questions that bet on a tragedy (someone's death, a serious illness, an attack) are refused. To make a question playable:
- one question at a time;
- a precise date, and a time if needed;
- a source that will settle it: official result, published ranking, official announcement;
- answers that cover every case without overlapping.
Too vague: "Will the film do well?" Playable: "Will the film pass one million admissions in France by 31 October, according to published box-office figures?"
Play with friends
In a private group you can start bets for the group only. They work like a vote: everyone picks an answer, without Credits, and you settle the result among yourselves. These bets are only visible to group members.
Seasons, leaderboard and leagues
The game runs in two-month seasons. At the start of each season everyone gets 10,000 Credits: the same starting line for all. The season leaderboard compares players.
The League lasts the whole season and splits them into pools of similar level. Its leagues bear the names of the crests, from Spark to Universe, each in three divisions: at the end of each season, the top players of each pool move up, sometimes by several divisions, and the bottom ones move down one division. The League does not pay out Credits: it is a separate competition, played for the fun of moving up.
Your prestige level, for its part, rises with the Credits you win from bets, and never goes down. Each level you reach brings you Credits, paid automatically, with nothing to claim.
Play with peace of mind
Pick it is an entertainment game for adults (18+). No real money goes into the game, and Credits are never exchanged for money. If a question or a comment seems inappropriate, report it from its page: every report is reviewed within 24 hours.
